The exporter’s toolkit

What should you
export, and where?

Trade data: UN Comtrade, calendar year 2025 (series 2016–2025). State data: DGCIS / NIRYAT, Q4 FY2025-26 (January–March 2026) and FY 2024-25 (April 2024 – March 2025). Page built 27 July 2026.

Answer four questions. Get your best markets ranked by actual opportunity, whether a trade agreement covers them, the schemes you are likely to qualify for, and the exact desk to walk into.

02

Your best markets

Ranked by the size of the gap: how much the market buys, versus how little of it India currently supplies.

How to read this. A big market where India already has a large share is a proven route — easier, more crowded. A big market where India has almost none is either a real opening or a market with a barrier nobody has cracked; the FTA column tells you which is more likely. Duty rates are not shown here — look yours up on the Indian Trade Portal, which is the authoritative source.

03

Schemes you are likely to qualify for

Matched on your product, your state and the answers above.

Read this before you rely on any of it. Scheme status shown as at . Schemes marked check were open but their published validity has lapsed or is unclear; schemes marked ended are closed and are listed only so you are not caught out by outdated advice elsewhere.

04

What is about to hit your shipment

Rules in destination markets that change what you have to prove, not just what duty you pay. These are what stop shipments now.

05

Where to actually go

Your council, your state, and the government desks that matter.

About this tool

The market ranking is computed from this site’s UN Comtrade data — each market’s reported imports of your product group, and how much of that came from India. Agreement status comes from the trade agreements data. Scheme entries are curated from official sources, each carrying the date it was last checked and a link to the authority that runs it.

This tool deliberately does not show duty rates. Tariffs vary by 8-digit HS code, by origin certificate and by agreement schedule, and a number that is nearly right is worse than no number. Use the Indian Trade Portal or the government’s TIA portal for duties, and treat everything here as orientation rather than advice.
