Where are the buyers?

The world’s biggest import markets and India’s slice of each.

The 14 markets shown buy the bulk of world imports in most product groups. Most report 2025 data; China reports 2024, the UAE and Saudi Arabia 2023 (marked on the axis). Imports are CIF, so shares run slightly conservative for distant suppliers like India.

About this data

Source: UN Comtrade. The trend chart uses India’s own reported exports and imports by HS 2-digit chapter. The market chart uses each importer’s reported imports of the chapter — total and from India — for its latest available year (EU figures are extra-EU trade). Values are current US dollars. Every chart downloads as CSV.
